The BytesXtra adds the 'bytes' datatype to Director.
This was rendered necessary by the fact that since Director11, all lingo strings are Unicode and thus do not allow arbitrary binary data storage and retrieval. With this new datatype, fully integrated to Director, binary data can be manipulated.
This Xtra is freeware and we all hope that Adobe will include it (or at least its API) in the future Director12.
Shockwave-safe and autodownloadable.
Xtra developers : BytesXtra contains C++ APIs and examples to manipulate bytes values directly in your own Xtras.
