fluidXtra has been ported to d11 and has new soundfont download functions !

A few news for fluidXtra :

- fluidXtra has been ported to Director11 !

- new functions have been added to manage soundfont files download from the internet, allowing fluidXtra to use to use soundfont files in shockwave (and not only sound samples).

Just download v5.0. Fully compatible with previous version.

loadSampleMember not working?

When I run your simpleDemo, I get a "Bad Sound format" error in this line
gSampleID = gFluid.loadSampleMember("sodaCan44.16.mono", sfbank, gPresetNb)

The sample plays fine if I use
sound(1).play(member( "sodaCan44.16.mono" ))

Any ideas? I'm on a MacBook Pro, OS 10.4.11.

Hello Hunter,

really strange !

- did you change the demo in any way ? Or is this the standard demo ?
- is this d10 or d11 ?
- is this in authoring ? or in shockwave or in projector ?
- you're running macintel, right ?
- can you check that the standard Xtra named "Sound Import Export" is present (in the Director Xtra's folder if in authoring, or in the Movie Xtras if Projector? fluidXtra needs it (as stated in the faq).

Hi again,

it's the standard demo, yes, right "out of the box". Using D11, in authoring, on a MacBook Pro 10.4.11, which is Intel, right. Sound Import Export is present. I removed and added both fluidXtra an Sound Import Extra to the movie, to make sure they're properly installed. I tried a Projector also, just for fun, but it didn't work there, either.

What could it be?

Ok, we've got a problem here.
Unfortunately, I don't have a MacIntel machine to test this.
Can I ask you to install the attached Xtra in place of the one you have and run the demo again ? It just returns more information than "Bad sound format".

With that xtra, the error message reads:

"-- "Bad Sound format : ParseSndHeader err = -206""

I'll happily test with you as much as you like, so don't hesitate to send files.

Well, the official Apple doc says that it means :

-206 badFormat Resource is corrupt or unusable [handle to 'snd ' resource was invalid]

Not very helpful... ;-)

I'll try to find another lead... and let you know..
